Algar do Carvão
EXTRA OPENINGS
Exceptional visits are held only during the weekly visiting season, but due to the constrution of the new visitor center these are only possible from October 1st to the 31st. These are intended for organized groups that are unable to visit the cave on the regular days and schedules during this season. On November 1st, Algar do Carvão will close for visitation, until March 2027.

They can be scheduled only on Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays
FEES
– Fee per group (minimum price up to 30 pax): 330,00€
– Individual fee (groups over 30 pax): 11,00€
BOOKINGS
Monday to Friday (until Friday 3:30 pm), with a minimum 48 hours’ notice

The Montanheiros Association is not responsible for organizing groups for extra openings.

Reservation emails must include the client’s name, phone number, group name/queue number, number of participants, and the guide’s name.

Reservations are subject to availability.

A reservation is only confirmed upon receiving a reply from the Montanheiros Association, which will confirm the extra openning date and time.
PUNCTUALITY
Punctuality is required

If the client does not arrive within 15 minutes of the scheduled time for the extra cave opening, the Montanheiros Association reserves the right to cancel the visit.
